Fantasy Premier League: Things to Consider during the International Break

Should you miss out on Manchester City’s attack?

Ferran Torres (6.9M)

Started the season on a high with two goals and one assist. He has played in the No.9 position for Man City, but recently he has not played a lot in the premier league with Foden and De Bruyne returning from injuries. But in the four appearances, he has taken a total of 13 shots of which 10 were from the box. With fixtures coming thick and fast Pep will rotate as he always does and Torres could again start to score some points and could be your differential as his ownership has dropped to (7.9%).

Jack Grealish (8.0M)

Though some would say he’s not playing like a 100 million pound player he has certainly created the most chances of in the team with 18 chances created. He is also taking a total of 1.71 shots per game of which 0.71 shots are on target. He has started all of the 7 games in the premier league this season which enhances his chances of points as you got to be on the pitch to score points. He’s the most nailed-on to start in that city team.

Phil Foden (7.9M)

After coming back from injury and starting a pivotal match against arch-rivals Liverpool, he didn’t disappoint as he scored with an exquisite finish. He played well and dominated from that left-wing. If he performs the way he did against Liverpool, he could certainly be the pick of the lot from Manchester City attackers.

Chelsea Defence – Rudiger or Azpilicueta or both?

Antonio Rudiger (5.8M) and Cesar Azpilicueta (6.0M) have certainly proved to be the best options from that Chelsea defense with Azpilicueta getting 2 assists against Southampton. If you are going for one or the other, Azpilicueta is the pick as he’s only owned by 6.1% of managers and also provides attacking returns.

Best Premiums to consider for each position?

Romelu Lukaku (Forward- 11.7M)

He is the pick of the lot for the run-in from GW8-GW15 with really enticing fixtures. He also faces Norwich City and Newcastle United who are joint-worst for goals conceded (16). And for those run-of fixtures, he has to be one of the candidates for your armbands every week.

Mohammed Salah (Midfielder- 12.7M)

He’s just a safety blanket for our fpl teams, we just cannot afford to ship him out of our squads barring any injuries. He has scored 70 points in 7 games already, he’s taken 28 shots of which 24 were from inside the penalty area. Averaging 10 points per game he’s another hefty captaincy option for the whole season rather.

Trent-Alexander-Arnold (Defender- 7.5M)

His ownership has slumped after he missed the game against Manchester City in Gameweek 7. Despite missing two matches, Trent’s total of 21 chances is only 2nd best to 23 of Bruno Fernandes (11.8M) among all players. He has averaged 7 points per game so far this season, and if he is passed fit for the Watford game he is still the best defender in the game despite the Man city and Chelsea defender playing in top form.

Ederson (Goalkeeper-6.0M)

He is the joint-top scorer among goalkeepers with 35 points keeping 5 clean-sheets. Considering their fixtures and their defensive record he could certainly prove to be a decent differential as the majority of managers are looking at the likes of Ruben Dias and Joao Cancelo.

What to do with Raphinha?

Raphinha (6.6M) will miss the game against Southampton in GW8 as he will not be able to return in time for the game. But if your teams don’t have any other concerns then you could still bench him for GW8 and start him against Wolves. Although, if you really need one Emile Smith Rowe (5.4M) could be a decent replacement.
