Fantasy Premier League: Dilemma’s ahead of Gameweek 7

Cristiano Ronaldo (12.7M) or Romelu Lukaku (11.7M)?

Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku are the kinds of Premium Forwards the game needed to increase the number of FPL options for Managers. Both of them have scored 3 goals till date. Cristiano Ronaldo has an xG of 3.44 while Lukaku has 2.84. Cristiano Ronaldo has taken more shots per game with 17 attempts in 3 matches whereas Romelu Lukaku has taken 15 shots in 5 matches. Choosing the better option massively depends on your current teams. If you are on a Wildcard this week, you could make the switch right away as Lukaku has a far better fixture run in the coming weeks and would certainly be a strong captaincy pick. If you don’t intend to WC this week and have Ronaldo, you could stick with him for the game against Everton and assess during the International Break. In the run-up to GW15, Romelu Lukaku certainly has better fixtures which means he could score more points than Ronaldo potentially.

Who to get from The Gunners?

After a bad start to the season losing their first 3 games, they are now in a good run of form with 3 wins on the bounce one of them being against Tottenham hotspur. And with a nice run of fixtures to come for the gunners, there are Fpl options to consider. Emile Smith Rowe (5.3M) and Bukayo Saka (6.3M) are the obvious picks, and the key thing here is they both are affordable. If you are on a WC I would certainly pick one of them, their stats are more or less the same but the advantage that saka has is he is less of a rotation risk as he is a versatile player and could play in several positions. Although if you are tight on budget, Emile Smith Rowe is equally good as an FPL option.

Cheap Attackers for 3rd striker spot?

Allan-Saint-Maximin (6.8M)

In the first 6 games of the new premier league season, Saint-Maximin has already had 5 attacking returns (2 goals and 3 assists). He is The Magpies’ talisman in attack as he’s taken a total of 13 shots in 6 games. He has also created 4 big chances during that time and has scored 35 points which is the most of any forward under (7.5M). Newcastle United’s reliance on Saint-Maximin boosts his appeal and with a nice run of fixtures, he could be an option for your wildcard teams to accommodate all the premium options in the game.

Neal Maupay (6.5M)

The Seagull’s number 9 is in goalscoring form with 4 goals in 6 games which have made them just a point off the league leaders in Liverpool.
He’s taken 11 shots in 6 games. Brighton as a team who are in a good vein of form means they could be the best versions of themself and they have certainly started the season brilliantly. It could be a good time to jump on Neal Maupay and his appeal as an fpl option is boosted by the fact that he’s still on penalty duties. He also has a nice run of fixtures with, especially Norwich after the international break.

Ivan Toney (6.3M)

Brentford looks the best out of the promoted teams this season. They played the perfect game to earn a draw against Liverpool. Their attacking players look good and are playing as a unit. Early signs suggest Ivan Toney has adapted nicely to the challenges of the premier league. He’s taken 14 shots in 6 games and he is also on penalties. To accommodate the premium options in your teams, Toney could provide value.

Trent Alexander Arnold (7.6M) Hold or sell?

Klopp said in his press conference that Trent has a muscle injury and could be out for 3 weeks, which means he could return in GW9. Now the question is to hold him or sell him. That depends on the team you have. If you can field a good enough defense then hold him. If not and you feel the need to sell him, then these are few defenders who you could get for your fpl teams.

Joao Cancelo (6.1M)

The top-scoring defender in the game could be the perfect option to get for Trent. With 44 points only in 6 games, Cancelo could be one of the top-scoring defenders in the game this season. The fact that he has played every minute in the premier league and can play as a right-back or a left-back suggests he’s nailed on. He’s only (13.4%) owned which in comparison to Trent and Luke shaw is a lot less for a Man City defender.

Ruben Dias (6.1M)

Man city’s skipper could prove to be a nice replacement as he’s the most nailed defender of the team, as last season also he only missed 600 minutes. He could also provide an attacking threat from set pieces. The fact that Pep doesn’t like to change his center-back partnership a lot, we could see Dias play the majority of the premier league games if he stays fit.

Antonio Rudiger (5.7M)

Antonio Rudiger has been one of the key players since Tuchel took over in January. He has played consistently and is in the best form of his career at the moment. He is not only a brilliant defender in his box but also an attacking threat from set_pieces in the opposition’s box. With already a goal and helping Chelsea keep 4 clean sheets in 6 games, he is certainly the main man in their back three and is the most nailed on. Only owned by (16.7%), he is a good pick as he is still going under the radar of many fpl managers.
