England vs germany

England has been strong at defensively, conceding 0 goals and only 5 shots on target. Their attack however, has not switched into gears with only 2 goals scored and both of them coming from the boot of Raheem Sterling whose position in the team was very much uncertain coming into the tournament. Harry Kane has perhaps been the biggest surprise, the Premier League top goal scorer and assist provider is at 0 goal contributions and a grand total of 1 shot on target.

The other side of the coin is Germany who has scored 6 goals but has conceded 5. They look like a threatening force going forward but defensively they are very fragile. So we have an airtight defense against a lethal attack and a feeble defense against a dysfunctional attack. One might call it an immovable object meeting an unstoppable force. It is the most difficult match to call on this side of the bracket.

Fantasy: Being such a close affair some of the fantasy decisions will be on the basis of which team do you think will make it through. The English defense has been one of the most solid in the competition and Luke Shaw (€6m) is an asset that not only can get you points for clean sheet but also get attacking returns with 4 shot creating actions in 2 games. Raheem Sterling (€9.6m) is the strongest English attacking outlet that too with only 7% ownership.

Serge Gnabry (€9.5m) is returning to London once again. Nuff said about him. For context though he has scored 6 goals in 2 visits to London. Safe to say, Gnabry though not in great form in the competition is still a must for this game. Robin Gosens (€5.2m) was one of the most lethal defenders in Europe in the 2020/21 season and has brought that same form to the Euros as well.

netherlands vs Czech republic

The Dutch have the most goals in the competition with 8 goals scored and only 2 goals conceded. One might make the case that it was because they had an easier group but what is to be noted that this Dutch side had been struggling since the day Frank De Boer took over as manager. However, they finally look they are getting into their groove. The 3-5-2 is finally starting to give results and Memphis Depay and Gini Wijnaldum have been outstanding. Denzel Dumfries has not only been good but is the defender at Euros 2020 with the most goals scored. They are one of 3 teams in Euro 2020 with a perfect record.

The Czech player Patrick Schick is undoubtedly taking home the goal of the season award but that might be all the Czech team will remember the Euros 2020 by. They have been a resilient side but beating a team of Netherlands caliber is a whole new ball game which this team might not be cut out for. However, one thing football has always given are upsets and surprises. With the knockouts being a one-off game, the unpredictability is off the charts.

Fantasy: Buying a Czech player in this tie will be a massive gamble which is not highly recommended but for those with a lot of belief in this team, Patrick Shick (€8.4m) and Vladimir Coufal (€5.3m) are the 2 choices you can go for.

The Dutch offer a flurry of attractive options in every position. In defense Denzel Dumfries (€5.6m) is a no brainer, the highest scoring defender in Euros 2020, with 2 goals to his name and a relatively easy opponent. On the defensive front Dutch defense has faced only 2 shots on target in their last 2 matches against Northern Macedonia and Austria. Gini Wijnaldum (€8.1m) is the joint top scoring mid fielder and is showing no signs of slowing down. He has 10 shots taken out of which 4 were on target, he will be looking to increase his tally against Czech. And finally the Coup de Grace, Memphis Depay (€10.1m) the man with 2 goals and 2 assists is again a must to have in your team.

Sweden vs ukraine

The last game of the Euros 2020 Round of 16 promises to be a belter, the Swedes topped group-E with ease, even though it consisted the likes of Spain and Poland. Emil Forsberg has turned out to be a surprise star for them, the Leipzig man has scored 3 of their 4 goals. It was a surprise as everyone was betting on Alexander Isak to take the mantle of being the talisman for his country especially with the season he has had with Real Sociedad. Defensively, Victor Lindelof has been excellent alongside veteran Marcus Danielson.

Ukraine is a case of not being able to stand up to expectations. The Ukraine side has quality players like Zinchenko, Yarmolenko and Malinovskiy yet they struggled against Austria and fell just short against Netherlands. They still have a chance to redeem themselves in the knockouts but an in form Sweden will try with all their might to not let that happen.

Fantasy: Yarmolenko (€8.6m) has been marvelous being one of the highest scoring fantasy players this season. With 2 goals and an assist the West Ham man is on fire and has given David Moyes a beautiful presentation stating his claim to a starting berth in his team. A cheaper option may be Roman Yarmishuk at €7.3m.

From Sweden the obvious choice is Emil Forsberg (€7.7m) who is surprisingly still a big differential at 12% given his heroic performances for his country. He has 7 shots in 3 games, highest for a Swedish player in the tournament. The other option from this may be Victor Lindelof (€5.6m) at a highly differential ownership of 3% and 2 clean sheets out of 3 games and conceding 0 shots on target against Slovakia.

Wales vs Denmark

The game to kick off the Euro 2020 Round of 16 is between the runner ups of Group-A and Group-B spectively. Wales have outperformed a bit with Aaron Ramey reminding fans why he was once the crown jewel of that Arsenal mid field. Gareth Bale has also impressed however not as much as the goal scorer we all know rather the creator assisting 2 of the 3 goals scored by his team during the group stages. Dan James and Keefe Moore have both looked very solid.

Denmark has been through a huge rollercoaster in this competition. Their first match against Finland was one not to be easily forgotten which they in the end lost 1-0. In the next game against Belgium they were very lost and got dominated. In the final game though, Denmark came to life, we knew they had the ability and for the first time in this competition they showed it. This is a tough game to call as both the teams have given bad performances but also great ones as well in Euros 2020. But Denmark might have the extra drive and quality to win the tie.

Fantasy: Denmark has a prolific striker in Yussuf Poulsen (€8.2m) with an ownership of a mere 2%. The Welsh defense conceded only 2 goals but they owe a lot to luck as they faced a total of 16 shots on target in the group stages. Poulsen has been electrifying in the opposing box scoring 2 goals with 2 shots on target, he might be in for a treat in this game. Andreas Christensen (€5.5m) and Jannik Vestergaard (€5m) might also be good options.

Wales’ chances of going forward are slim so their players are not highly recommended however you could punt on Aaron Ramsey (€8.6m) as, if Wales are to go through he might be the difference maker.
