Fantasy Differential Picks

France v/s Portugal: Karim Benzema at €10 million and owned by only 6% could be the ace in the hole your team may need to surpass the competition in your mini league. The formula 1 car has been cruising in front of goal since 2018 and yesterday justified his call back to the French national team. With an xG of 1.6 and 7 shots he has been prolific in the box. France’s round of 16 match being against Switzerland gives his team a much easier fixture than some of the other alternatives.

Germany v/s Hungary: Kai Havertz has 8 shots, 4 on target in the Euros already with an xG more than 2.5 and an ownership of 7%. The Germans though have been leaky at the back, they have always known how to score the goals and a strong case can be made that Kai Havertz will be part of their goals. Kai’s goal in the UCL final has just gone to prove that he can deliver on the highest of occasions.

Spain v/s Slovakia: Pablo Sarabia started his first game of the competition against Slovakia and put on a stunning display scoring a goal and assisting 2 more. He seems like the clinical outlet Enrique needed. Morata has 1 goal with an xG of 2.8 making him the most underperforming attacker in Euros 2020. If Enrique finally decides to drop him, Sarabia will probably be the man to take the wing as Gerard Moreno slips in to the number 9 role.

Sweden v/s Poland: Emil Forsberg priced at €7.7 million and owned by only 3% is the top goal scorer of Euro 2020 only behind Cristiano Ronaldo. Sweden plays a very leaky Ukraine in the round of 16 so goals for Sweden might be on the cards especially considering the blazing form Emil is in.

Social Media Moment of the Day

In the first half of Sweden v/s Poland, Lewandoski failed to convert 2 very big chances and given his high standards the internet was not sympathetic. It also might have been the goal Poland may have needed to make it to the knockouts as the score was still 1-0 to Sweden

From one legend of the game to another, Cristiano Ronaldo now has more goals in a major International tournament than any other European in history. And this was before his second goal of the game.

Moment of the Day

Until the 84th minute Germany’s hopes of staying in the competition for the next round were starting to fade with every passing second. Joachim Low’s team were bombing the Hungary defense, it was all or nothing for the 4 time World Champions. Germany needed atleast 1 goal to reach the knockouts but Hungary was hanging on to their 1 goal advantage, having already lost it once in the game, by the skin of their teeth.

Stepped up Leon Goretzka at his club’s home stadium coming on as a substitute for Ilkay Gundogan in the 58th minute. Timo Werner’s shot was deflected by Willi Orbán and on the rebound Leon Score-etzka, as Thomas Muller called him, pulled the trigger on the half volley. The shot looked like one from a movie, going under the legs of 2 defenders and even the keeper getting a touch nothing was going to stop that goal from bulging in the back of the net and rescuing Germany from yet another humiliation after they failed to get past the group stage in the 2018 World Cup despite being reigning World Champions.

Disappointment of the Day

Kylian Mbappe has 0 goals and 0 assists throughout Euro 2020, he hasn’t looked as dangerous he did for PSG or even France prior to the tournament. The fans were expecting it to be the Kylian Mbappe show but until now he has been relatively dormant with despite having 3 shots on target. If France is to go far into the tournament they will need their young star to start firing.
